About the Fleurieu Milk &
Yoghurt Company
ROSLYN VALE JERSEY COWS
The Roslyn Vale property at Myponga, SA, now owned by Barry and Merridie Clarke, was purchased by Merridie’s grandfather in 1934 as a total scrub block. The first Jersey cattle were purchased in 1938.
Merridie’s father, uncle and grandfather worked together in gradually clearing the scrub and the property was eventually brought into high capacity production.
‘Roslyn Vale’ has had the honor of being the top production Jersey herd in Australasia on several occasions. Merridie and Barry purchased the farm in 1993.
As time progressed they were hit with continuous low farm gate prices and a decision needed to be made as to whether they would continue to milk cows at a loss or find a way to become viable. After long discussions, the joint venture with the Royan and Hutchinson families began.
Cattle have recently been tested for the A2 gene and this milk has now become the ‘Jersey Premium’ range of Fleurieu Milk Company milk.
WINDY VALE HOLSTEIN COWS
The Windy Vale Holstein Stud, established in 1988 is situated at the base of the foothills behind the Myponga township. Milking cows, buying, selling and showing cattle became a way of life for partners Chris & Karen Royan’s and Geoff & Louise Hutchinson.
With the challenge of milking more cows and profit margins shrinking due to unsustainable farm gate prices, the thought of processing their own milk together with the Clarke’s, emerged into reality.

FLEURIEU MILK COMPANY IS BORN
In 2003 after much research, planning and complying with regulations, the above three families, registered the ‘Fleurieu Milk Company’ and began packaging a variety of milk as well as ‘Pure Cream’ from Holstein cows and A2 tested Jersey cows.
In addition also, our joint venture with Monjava Coffee has helped us to create the perfect ‘Iced Coffee’ and ‘Chocolate Milk’.

FLEURIEU YOGHURT COMPANY IS BORN
Following the success of the Fleurieu Milk Company, the Fleurieu Yoghurt Company was born and commenced in April 2010 in conjunction with the Queensland Yoghurt Company. Using a proven family secret recipe, the Yoghurt is 95% fat free, contains no gelatine, gluten free and no artificial preservatives.
